Collider is an accelerator dedicated to marketing and advertising startups, who help brands and agencies identify, understand, engage with and sell to their consumers. We invest capital in these startups, we coach them through a highly structured programme and we connect them to potential corporate customers and investors. The aim of the game is to help these startups become sustainable, rapidly growing businesses.

We invest specifically in technology startups that are building platforms, products and services that enable brands to better find, understand engage with, and sell to their consumers. We have developed the perfect platform to transform startups into real businesses. Not just two-man-and-a-dog-back-bedroom-investment-hunting outfits that generate Twitter followers, win pitching competitions, or plaudits in the media. But proper, bonafide, robust businesses. Businesses with customers, revenue and scalable models for growth.

Currently all our startups need to be under two years old, be SEIS eligible, and based in England.

We’re highly selective about which brands and agencies we bring on as partners. Only progressive and innovative brands who pledge to offer real help, make real introductions, and lay the yellow bricks leading to pilots make the cut. By introducing our startups to these corporates early and often, they’ll be customers early and often too.

We’ve recruited the perfect pool of investors too. Each one is a specialist in their field – mostly marketing and advertising. They know exactly what it takes to make it big and how to get our startups to succeed at light speed. Their role is to provide expertise, make the right introductions at the right time, and work the founders hard.

What’s the deal?

The market has changed and so have we. Up to £80k is up for grabs. We are offering startups enough money to focus more on winning customers than on investment.

Up to 10 startups will receive £30k* for 8% equity. This programme is bursting with one-on-one coaching sessions, brand and investor interactions, and a series of workshops strategically crafted and powered by Europe’s best in class providers. It all culminates in a Demo Day attended by 200+ of your customers. And we’re scaling it up for 2017.

After four months, up to 5 startups will receive a further £50k* each for 8% equity. Instantly. These eight months are all about preparing to scale. Go focus on securing the traction investors are looking for to raise a late seed or Series A round instead of raising that cash. The recipients will be selected by our investors the day after Demo Day.

The startups which do not receive follow-on funding from Collider will still very much be part of the Collider family, invited to events including MadTech Drinks and alumni brand interactions where relevant (this happens a lot). There are no hard feelings, and unproductive competition between companies is not tolerated. We’re here to do business.

*The startups will receive the above mentioned funding in cash. There is a programme fee of £20K + VAT for each investment which has been excluded from the above mentioned investment.

What else is on offer?

We’ve recruited a brilliant pool of investors too; all of them have made their names in this space, from founders of marketing agencies to SVPs at the world’s leading brands. They come armed with golden advice and a contact book to die for.

We’ve also spent the last few years talking to the major players in the London ecosystem – co-working spaces, software providers, accountants and lawyers as well. So we bring them in to advise you. We partner with Deloitte, Ignition Law, Mathys & Squire, to provide you with the most accurate information on the market. Group sessions and one-to-ones are open to all alumni – and Collider’s partnerships cover some of these costs.

Where do I need to be based?

Collider startups can be based ANYWHERE. Whoop. But two things:

i) All of our programme is run in London so you must be prepared to travel to London on a weekly basis throughout the programme.

ii) Collider invests in UK Limited companies so you will need have set up your HQ as a UK entity with all the IP residing in it. It can own subsidiary companies anywhere in the world.
